Fraudsters appear to be targeting lawyers in the United States and contacting persons internationally and domestically, impersonating lawyers or office personnel. Our office does not handle Patent, Trademark, or any other form of Intellectual Property law. If you have been contacted by someone claiming to be from this office regarding these practice areas, this is a fraud. Our practice is limited to matters in New York and Connecticut involving Estate Planning, Estate Administration and Real Estate. If someone has contacted you purporting to be from this office and asking for funds related to Trademark or Intellectual Property, it is a fraud.
This office handles Estate Planning, Estate Administration and Real Estate matters. We never contact persons to send them funds or establish trademarks or matters involving Intellectual Property. If you have received a phone call or email like that purporting to be from this office, it is fraudulent.
Fraudsters also use law firm’s names to claim that persons must contact an office regarding potential criminal action. Fraudsters have even impersonated police officers, court personnel, or federal agencies.
If you receive an email or phone call from someone claiming to be from this office, requesting any personal information or claiming that you are required to pay funds to establish or renew a patent or trademark -this is a scam and a fraud. Email impersonators will often spoof business email addresses. We do not contact persons unsolicited for any reason. The contacts you may have received were not from this office.
Our recommendations are do not provide personal information to anyone contacting you over the internet or by phone unless you have verified their identity. Do not open any links. Do not provide any information. Be wary of phishing and other attempts to obtain your personal info.
While we are aware that fraudsters do impersonate United States law firms, domestically and internationally, the firm, lawyers, and our staff are not responsible for this type of conduct. We disclaim any liability for criminal fraudsters who impersonate law offices either in the U.S. or internationally.
For your security and protection, we ask that you be extremely cautious regarding any unsolicited phone calls and emails sent to you or contacts via email or phone call. Both phone numbers and email addresses can be faked and spoofed by unscrupulous persons.
These scams take a wide variety of forms. If you believe you have been victimized by this type of scam you should report to local authorities or law enforcement. You may also report it to the FTC.
